2...Not what we expected!!! Happy Birthday Baby!!!

Nolan woke up happy on his 2nd birthday!!! He opened his presents, played, took a bath and got ready for a fun day!! Just as we were getting ready to leave he got really upset and after getting him calmed down we could tell he didn't feel well!! He fell asleep, he slept and slept until it made me anxious and we took him to walk in care!! Where he woke up briefly and again fell back asleep quickly!! We ended up having to take him to the ER just to make sure all was ok!!! We got there he was still pretty lethargic! The doctor offered Brayden a popsicle because he was upset Nolan was there and Nolan caught it and ate 2 popsicles!! Whoooo hoooo first thing he had taken since 9am which was 9 hours ago at this point!!! They spoiled him as much as possible with a new stuffed animal, colors and even a birthday cake!!! In the end he just had a virus that hit him hard and maybe an ear infection!!! It was not the birthday we wanted but we will continue the celebration this weekend because he is already feeling better!!! It was not the birthday we imagined but our sweet little 2 year old is going to be ok!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

It was a rare occurrence in my world to get to take vacation during or around a holiday, until I changed to management!!! When I get to spend 5 days with my family around a holiday I am very thankful!! I got tons done and enjoyed a few stress free work free days!!! We decorated for Christmas, shopped for Christmas and got lots of playtime in!!! Tomorrow is Nolan's birthday so the day is going to be all about him!!! 

Grandma Kelly had knee surgery so we will hold off celebrating till next weekend!! We went to Donny's sisters and even had a little birthday cake and present opening!! Nolan saw the presents and went right for them!!! He ripped into them, even let his brother help, and made daddy open them as he saw them!!! He is really into Mickey Mouse and music so he loved everything he got!!! Nolan has decided using the potty is the best thing ever!! He actually wore underwear and kept them dry for a few hours this week!!! I refuse to potty train my 1 year old!!! He's a pretty amazing and smart little man already!!! I can't believe Nolan is going to be 2 tomorrow, I feel like just yesterday he was born 5 weeks and a day early!!! 

Brayden had another basketball game this morning, he scored 4 points and had multiple rebounds!! He is doing very well, we will miss basketball after next week till it starts again in January!! I wish our team would stay the same so we could continue to see their growth!! They have to be the most improved team by far!!! So fun to watch them grow!!!

Basketball Star.... and 1 week away from 2!!

I am in complete denial that my kids are growing up!!! They blow my mind hourly at how fast they change still at their ages!!!

Brayden started his first basketball league a month ago after a lot of discussion that he wanted to play and was going to be amazing!! He was right!!! He is catching on and doing an amazing!!! This weekend the game started and he was a little off, he didn't give up, and by the end of the game he scored three times in a row!! He is learning lay-ups already and the full art of basketball!!! He always ceases to amaze me!!! He only has two more games and he is already looking forward to the next season!! He's been asking for a basketball hoop for a while and I am pretty sure we will get him one for the spring if he still likes it!!! 

Nolan... It's really going to happen, he turns 2 in 1 week!!! He's a talking machine, he can be very sweet, he knows what he wants in every situation!!! Tonight I was upset and he leaned down in front of me and asked if I was ok and gave me a hug and kiss!!! Luckily he is very easily distractible which is all that keeps me sane!!! He loves grandmas and papa!! He talks about them all the time and calls them whenever possible!! He is starting to get upset when I drop him off at school again, but again I can usually talk him down, it might take me 20 minutes to drop him off, but usually we leave on good terms!!! Thankfully his morning teacher is consistent and patient!! I have a feeling the hard days are still in my future!!!

Family pictures came back and they turned out adorable!!! She did a great job once again, sure makes Christmas cards easy!!!

2 years in 2 weeks

At almost 2 years old Nolan is finally putting everything together, he now listens to what we are saying, we can talk him out of fits, bribe a little, explain things a little, and ask his opinion!!!  No matter how challenging the age can be it is also amazing to watch them put everything together!! He likes to be busy, away from home, and with other people!!! Last night we went for ice cream and bowling with friends, and the boys had lots of fun!! Brayden was very competitive and upset he lost, Nolan loved bowling at first, but his attention span was short like the other kids his age!! I was shocked how well he did!! I took them both by myself at the beginning since Donny was car shopping!!! Nolan has been on the big kid playground outside at school for a few weeks and his teachers say he has no fear so they stick very close to him!!! I can't believe he is really going to turn 2 so soon, part of me is ready and the other part still thinks he is a baby and I don't ever want that to change!!! 

Brayden is a reading machine, he is pretty self sufficient at this point and can figure out about any word in front of him!! He is reading this month for book it free pizza and has to read 6 hours in 4 months for a free pass to Six Flags, which he has never been too!! I love that they give him incentives and real goals!! It's been a great school year so far, according to his conference anyway!! His teacher said he is also starting to lead his group and has advanced twice as fast as expected already this year!!! He comes home with out complaints too so I am one happy mommy! Brayden has been playing basketball at the YMCA and doing excellent!! It helps that his best friend William is on his team too!!! Brayden has made 6 points in each of the last two games and has drastically improved his shooting since the season started a month ago!! He gets so excited when he makes a shot, it's so fun to watch!!! It's been a nice break with soccer being over and freeing up some time!!

We did our yearly family pictures last weekend, I booked a 20 minute session and the boys did awesome, we should get them back this week sometime hopefully!! It was 70 degrees outside too!!! Nolan's smiles were adorable, I can't wait to see them!! 

The weather has been awesome so far this fall!! This weekend was really the first chilly days, but still easy to be outside! We are so not ready for winter!!!
