Feels like summer is coming...

Another week older, Nolan hit 5 months this week and I am still in shock at how well he is doing!! He is eating his cereal pretty good, I did learn that he does better if it is not so runny, and now that I have the right consistency he eats like a champ!!! He is sleeping better about 7 hours straight most nights, but still taking short naps throughout the day for the most part!! He is sitting up longer and longer and even got to ride in the real stroller with out his carseat today!! He loved it!! He went to Brayden's soccer game today and really just loved being outside!!! He is interacting with us and others more every day and is even starting to only like mommy and daddy to hold him, if he can see us at least!!!

Brayden has swim lessons this week and Mommy and Nolan took him and he has came so far I couldn't believe!! At the end of the lesson he asked if he could do the diving board and the teacher said 1 time, he did it and swam all by himself all the way to the side!! Daddy walked in just in time to video it and see it for himself!! Brayden has also been practicing his letters, which he does not like, but is getting better!! I made him trace every name for his birthday invitations to his class!! He did it without complaints!!! 2 weeks from today my big boy will be 5!! I can't believe it one bit!!

 

Everyday is a learning day!!

We tried oatmeal for the first time with Nolan, he was not too into it!! He kept rolling his tongue at me and smiling so not too much went into his mouth!! We will continue to try till he decides its not so bad!!! He is already starting to sit in a tripod position with help for a short time!! He loves to sit in his toys that put him upright now and he no longer is arching his back to get out, he just enjoys seeing the new view!! He is not sleeping as sound as he once did especially the second part of the night, I'm sure that means that big changes are happening. He is exploring the world by putting everything to his mouth and really into touching everything!! He met Sophie the giraffe and loves to chew on her leg too!! He tries to hold his own bottle and for anyone that knows me knows I don't like that at all!! They only get a bottle for year and I love feeding time for cuddling and him just being a BABY!!! He grabs big brothers toy figures and chews on them, try telling a 4 year old that is how he learns and see where it gets you!! LOL!!! He doesn't like anything to be wet so that is not going over well!! Nolan will be 5 months old tomorrow and I already look at him and can't remember him being a premie at all!!

I have 2 more weeks of working only three days per week and 12 hour shifts!! This week was rough because I did 4 12 hour shifts and I felt like I didn't hold Nolan and interact with him from Monday!! I am excited to be home at a normal time everyday, but will need to adjust to working 5 days per week!!

This week was cold and rainy so we didn't get outside much!! Brayden's soccer game was even cancelled, he didn't get to ride his bike, so we are looking forward to this week when we will see 60-70's everyday!! Brayden is continuing his swimming lessons and is able to tread water and keep himself above the water all by himself, he just needs to work on his stamina!! Brayden is really enjoying soccer this year and has been much for involved so it is going to be fun to watch!!

 

Growing, Never Changing....All too Fast!!

 

Well, my boys are changing in front of my eyes as always!! I can't believe it!!! Donny let Nolan play with an Ipad  this week and he loved it!! I guess he'll be getting one too!! Nolan continues to roll and roll and just keeps going!! I went to Nolan's first school conference this week, and he it seems as he does more with mommy than them!! They were shocked sitting with us one on one how much he could really do!! I keep thinking every time he rolls and his legs getting going he is going to be crawling sooner than I want!! He also is trying to sit up by himself, strengthening his muscles I guess!!! Nolan is really liking his car seat and car rides or walks!! He loves to be outside, I can't wait to see what this summer has in store for us!!

Brayden started a new swimming lesson class this week and he seemed to really like it!! He is hardly using a floatee now and getting very comfortable in the water!! We decided we will keep him in the lessons till he can swim!! He is doing such a good job riding his new bike!! He has even went on a couple bike rides with us and done great!! He has fallen off a few times when he takes corners too quick and he gets right back up and on the bike!! This afternoon Brayden and daddy are going to ride to a friends house in our old neighborhood!!

I am taking in every minutes of time I get with these boys till I start my new job on May 10th!! I am so looking forward to being home every night early enough to participate in their routines!! I am looking forward to spending holidays with my boys, but I am going to miss the chaos and awesome people I work with now!! On to the next chapter, wish me luck!!!

Kindergarten Registration

I don't believe this is really happening!! Brayden my first baby is going to go to Kindergarten in the fall!! He had his first visit to his new school this week!! He wanted to explore a little more, but that is saved for an open house closer to the next school year starting!! I can't believe I have to send him to school already!! I am not sure he is ready to be that independent, but he always shows me up!! I just can't imagine him opening his own lunch food, packing his back pack, and just functioning independently!! Time will tell!!
