1 Month old.... Happy New Year

Surprise our newest addition turned 1 month old on Saturday!! It is so hard for me to believe because he has only been home for 3 weeks and I can't believe its been that long!! I took Baby Nolan to the doctor today because he has a wet sounding cough and congestion that got worse!! I think that I might be over-reacting a little because he has spent enough time sick that I just want to be able to enjoy him!! As if its not enough that Nolan is sick, Donny is on antibiotics for a sinus infection and Brayden has had a cold for over a week!! Luckily this mommy got over her cold pretty quick!! Just got to take care of myself and all of my boys so we can start 2015 healthy!!
At the doctor today they weighed him and couldn't believe his weight!!! He weighed in at a whopping 9 pounds 10 ounces!!!! The doctor came in saying "You are here worried about a cough and I am still thinking about his weight"!!! He is so right, he is obviously a thriving growing baby boy and I need to relax and be mommy, not nurse mommy!!!
He is such a good little boy, he sleeps well most of the time even!! He obviously eats well too!!  I told myself last night before going to bed, that this is my last little baby and I really should strive to just enjoy every moment I get with him even in the middle of the night!! I only have 8 more weeks off work, and then I will look back at this time and want to know that I got every cuddle in I could with both of my boys!!! I put Nolan in his car seat today to go to the doctors and again he looked so big, he held his head up even better than before and for the first time I wasn't concerned with him keeping his airway!! We haven't been going many places between illnesses around our house and other people being sick so a car seat ride is few and far between!!!
Brayden continues to be an excellent big brother!! He shares his blankets with him every chance he gets, he holds him, and he talks to him all the time!! He calls him "GOO, GOO, GAGA!!"

This is a pictures of him at 3 days old, newborn outfits were big on him, today he is just about ready to move up to 0-3 month clothes!!! He had dropped his weight down to 6 pounds 9 ounces, so he is 3 pounds heavier today!! He is also almost the same weight today as Brayden was when he was born!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! We had a great holiday. We celebrated around home because Nolan is not suppose to be in the car seat for extended periods of time till his neck control is better!! It is improving but we will wait till at least 40 weeks gestation before taking any road trips!! It was actually very relaxing on Christmas to not have anywhere to go or anything to prepare for a party!!! We did a lot of playing with new toys and opening all of the fun things we got!! Nolan got a lot of clothes so I got those all ready for him to wear!! I think that he will be out of newborn clothes pretty soon.
We went to the doctor with Nolan for his 3 week check up and he was suppose to gain 6 ounces, he did he actually gained 13 ounces and weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and was 20 3/4 inches long!! He is growing so fast already!! Tomorrow he will be 1 month old already and he wasn't even scheduled to come out till today!!! I guess at this point I can look at his early delivery and point out some good things like his birthday won't be too close to Christmas, I am already adjusting to a newborn, I am recovered from having him already, Donny has more time off with us again, and he is progressing well as a healthy baby!!! We are very fortunate to have another healthy baby boy in our family!!!
Brayden is still enjoying being a big brother, although the shock has worn off, he isn't regressing back to his younger days, he is not mad at either of us, and he is very gentle with "his baby"!! We are still so shocked at how well he has adjusted!!! Donny and I have tried our best to spend time playing with his new toys with him!! Today him and I put together one of his new lego sets!! He was so excited to have a batman lego batcave!!!
One of the last things that a nurse that I have worked with in my unit, that now works in the NICU, said to me was "You won't have to worry about hearing him when he wakes up hungry, he is very loud for as little as he is" is RIGHT ON!!! When she said it, it was very hard for me to hear!! I thought I am the mom why is someone else telling me things about my little guy that I should know, actually that I should be telling them!!! Well, she was right and gets more right with every feeding!! He is a pretty content little man, if you don't let him get hungry!! Sometimes now I just giggle a little because its hard to believe how loud an 8 pound little preemie can be when he is hungry!!! Well I hope everyone enjoys the newest pictures!!!

Baby Nolan adjusting!!! Big Brother loves him...

 

Brayden wakes up every morning asking where his baby is! He loves him so much and is adjusting so well to our family of 4!!! We are attempting, like all parents do, to not have his whole world change, but not sure we are 100% successful!! We are so proud of how well he is doing. He asks to hold him every day and only holds him for a minute, but then yells for us to fix his crying and not to let the baby be sad!!! He is an AWESOME BIG BrOTHER!!!

Nolan is adjusting to life on the outside, he is still small with frequently check up with the pediatrician, but is progressing as well if not better than it was thought he would. He is starting to want to eat every 3 hours instead of 4 even at night. We have been practicing head control with tummy time and last night he rolled over from his belly to his back!! I guess he showed me who's boss!! He doesn't want to be thought of as a premie!!! We are all doing well, enjoy the pictures!!!
