What a week!

Last Sunday a huge tornado hit Washington, IL, luckily my parents were not hit and all but one person survived. They were very lucky for that, but at least 1000 homes were destroyed completely and many more were damaged with people being misplaced from their homes. I went to volunteer and left the boys home alone from Sunday afternoon till  Tuesday night!! This was the longest I have ever been away from him, and it was very difficult, but Daddy did such a good job that all was well and I was doing my best to help my hometown!!
While the boys were Bachelors, as Donny would say, they ate out, bought toys, and did a lot of playing. Donny sent me pictures here and there so I could always sneak a smile in!! I picked Brayden up at school and Brayden was so excited to see me, he held my hand tight kissing it all the way to the car saying "I love you mommy to infinity and beyond"!! Love that little guy!!

Brayden got a new toy and didn't want to go to bed so he thought if he was under the table we couldn't get him!! Worked for a while I guess!

Brayden had friends over and wanted to pain piggy banks, that was so much fun, he even got Grandma Pam to feed his piggy some money!!

Brayden daddy time once again!!

Searching for stuff to do!

I think that it is time for us to start searching for stuff to do in the cold. I don't like to be cold so I struggle doing stuff outside in the winter. Until this year Brayden didn't seem to like it much either, but this year he loves being outside more than he dislikes being cold!! We need to start planning play dates quick!! He loves to do art, bake, and anything with friends!
This week Brayden got upset each day he went to school with show-n-tell! He loves to share his toys and he has so many friends at school that he enjoys playing with!! We are so lucky that he has so much fun at school! We were grocery shopping this week and Brayden said to me "Mommy I think it would be really nice if we bought all my friends presents at school. I would like to pick things out for all my friends all by myself!!" This made me so happy that he is so generous!! I am hoping this winter goes by fast before it even really starts!!!

We went to the jumpy house this week with Cousin Tyler. The boys had so much fun including the big kid "daddy"!! He was able to climb all of the ladders all by himself this time!!

Park in November

Well I have been anxiously awaiting the cold weather, and am attempting to make myself go outside and bear it so he can run around a little, but it is so hard to be cold!! Brayden doesn't make it very long outside but he sure does love to get bundled up and go outside!! We learned this week that just because it feels nice out, if it is 3pm don't let it fool you because by 4:30 it is cold and by 5 DARK!!!!We enjoyed the time we were at the park at least, and hopefully  this will not be our last time this year!!
I am afraid that I better start doing some research and find some indoor stuff for us to do!! Hopefully some indoor playdates are in our future!!
We also learned this week that Brayden does not put Band-Aids on to get blood on them. When he took his flu shot band aid off and found blood on it he freaked out. I told him his arm must of been dirty with chocolate to calm him, and he said to me "good thing my doctors know how to fix dirty arms, I can't wait to tell my friends"!! He came up with that right away, not sure how he does it!
Once a month Brayden has to go to school an extra day so I can go to a meeting at work, he seems to enjoy school but does much better with his normal routine of daddy taking him. This day I take him and never know what to expect, it was picture day, which he has never been there for before, so he was dressed adorable as always and on our way through the halls everyone was telling him how cute he was. When we got to his room his teacher said "Another new shirt, Brayden do you have a lot of clothes?" He says my closet is big and full of clothes, I think my mommy has a shopping problem!!!" All of the adults laughed! Brayden's favorite day now to go to school is Tuesday, it is SHOW and Tell day and Brayden loads his Transformers backpack with a cool toy and gets to share it with his class!! Most of the kids forget, Brayden will never let us forget, so Brayden's toy gets lots of attention!! We talk about which toy is next for show and tell all week, it is a big ordeal around here!!

Busy Day

Well we had a productive busy day today!! After Brayden woke up I decided we really needed a haircut, and if I was going to go through that I should probably get him a flu shot too! This way he earned the new toy I was about to buy!! I made an appointment and off we were. We had a minor step back when I was driving down the road and a warning came on in my car that said FILL TIRE WITH AIR NOW!!! I called Donny and drove straight to the Volvo dealer, who fixed it without a problem just by filling one tire with a little air!! There was really no major problem!! Then we got a haircut, which was the easiest one yet, not even close to a tear! YEAH!!!! Then the flu shot, which if they wouldn't of had to clean it with alcohol he wouldn't of even known it was happening!! He again didn't even come close to crying! He just said to the Nurse "I didn't like that" and got up and walked out to get his balloon and candy from the doctor!! He loves the doctors there and said "Thanks for making me feel better all time"!! He is pretty sweet and pretty cute for sure!! Love this sweet little man and the person he is becoming!! After that we went to the store to get a toy, home for lunch and then outside to play and to the park!! What a great day!!! I sure do love and cherish these days off I get with him!! He is just the most amazing thing in our lives!!!!

Happy Trick or Treat Day!

Halloween was a success at our house this year!! Brayden had a great day!! We made treat buckets for all the kids in his class, then we went to his class party, then a night full of trick or treating! We had been talking about the school party for a few days since last year we went and he screamed the entire time so we left before the party started. This year he hung around me for the first 20 minutes or so and then played with the kids for the last part and just checked to make sure I held up my end of the deal and stayed with him! He has came a long way over the last year!! I am so proud of him!! We then let the trick or treating begin. We drove to the usuals and then went back to our house and met some friends to trick or treat through our neighborhood!! He liked decorated houses and told us after going to one house that "that house was really good"! There was a spider that jumped up at you when you walked on the porch and I screamed and he loved it!

The finished product for his treat buckets! The cheap light up pumpkins were the biggest success I think!!

Couldn't have a Halloween without a jumbo cupcake from Sweet Dreams!! He picked a pumpkin this year and he definitely enjoyed the extra frosting it had!!

He can't go to the grocery store without his own little cart, he feels so big and surprisingly enough does a pretty good job with it!
