Halloween Shenanigans... Let the fun begin!!

We have been getting ready for Halloween for at least a month, maybe longer! We did our trick-or-treating in Downtown Sycamore, and turned in his amazing pumpkin for the third year in a row!! We made wreaths, painted and decorated pumpkins, and made treat buckets for his daycare class!! He is so ready for this holiday he asked me if we could celebrate 2 days, today and tomorrow!! I agreed and will give him his Pumpkin Jumbo Cupcake!! Just wait for those pictures, this is a cupcake that is completely covered in frosting, and is one of his favorite treats for sure!
He told when riding in the cart today at Target "Mom toys are dead ahead"! I think someone has been watching too much pirates!
Well, many more pictures to come after the big night of trick or treating. We have a crazy SPIDERMAN on our hands!!

Finding stuff to do Inside again!

We are starting to have to find stuff to do inside because the cold weather hit us pretty quick. It snowed yesterday, did not accumulate, but it snowed. YUCK, I was hoping to get nice weather a little longer!! Brayden got a NIU Soccer ball from the soccer coach behind us and is really getting into playing!! Next year he can play the real thing, and that should be interesting!!
We started Christmas shopping this week and to my surprise Brayden did really well. He asked me to take pictures of the things he wanted for Christmas and then told me to send them to Grandma and PAPA. Smart kid knows how to get what he wants, and it worked PAPA already picked up one of the toys!! I have about 20 pictures of ideas for him for Christmas on my phone! I guess his generation won't be looking through catalogs, they will be taking pictures and sending their Christmas lists through text messages!! Whatever works. He helped pick out the other kids Christmas presents and was excited about buying them for other people! Over the past year Birthday present shopping for other kids was hard with him so we are coming along.
We are so excited to see that Brayden is liking wearing hats this years, winter hats and regular hats so maybe we won't have to fight him to wear hats outside when it is freezing!!

Fall is HERE!!!

Pumpkin Season is finally here!! It is cooling off unfortunately but we are dealing with ok so far. We are getting our pumpkins ready for the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival coming up next week and our Halloween wreaths are finally ready to disperse to the grandmas. Brayden is quite the crafty kid this year and enjoys using his creative side!!
We went to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin and to my surprise he would not pick a pumpkin from the patch because they were all dirty. He wanted to go the store and pick one that was clean!! He picked a white pumpkin for some reason, and we got an orange one too just in case he changed his mind!! He painted them both of course!
He finally narrowed down his Halloween costume idea to 1, and he picked......
Spiderman!!!
Now I have to make all attempts to find a good Spiderman costume since he didn't give us much time!!
He also has decided that kids his age carry backpacks so he wants to take his with him filled with toys every time we go in the car. He looks so big carrying it, I am not sure I like it!
Well here are a few pictures of the start of fall, many more to come over the next two weeks because we have lots of fun fall activities planned!!! Can't wait to see what we come up with!!

Sick with words and feelings....

Makes for a extra sick little guy and a sad mommy!! I took Brayden to the doctor yesterday because he was complaining of a sore throat, was a real challenge to get to drink, and had a temp at one point or felt hot like he had a temp but wouldn't register as a temp with a thermometer. I called the office because he was exposed to strep throat at school and of course knowing what can come from an untreated strep infection I was nervous, also recently having it for myself I didn't want him to feel that way. This time I didn't tell him we were going to the doctor because I was unsure of how he would react and as we were driving there he told me stop by "Dr. GOOwami's office to make him feel better"! When we got out of the car Dr. Goswami was leaving because he was not feeling well and Brayden was really upset that "My doctor gone who gonna make me better now". I explained there was another doctor and to my surprise he was happy to hear that. He couldn't wait to see her and asked her "Make me feel better please doctor". She swabbed his throat and everything changed, he puked all over me and him and the room after gagging. Then he was upset  because he made a mess. He was so sad and looked and sounded so desperate the office called me today to make sure he was feeling better. Thank goodness this resilient little guy is almost back to normal. Definitely full of energy and completely opposite of yesterday. He laid in bed with mommy all but a few hours of the day yesterday and told he spent most of the day playing with daddy!! Funny how a day can change things! I learned that I need to adjust to a 3 year old being sick and being able to communicate what is wrong. What a change a sick 3 year compared to a 2 year old. I am hoping for a full speedy recovery!!!

Here is a family picture from the shoot we had right before we realized he was sick!! He is even adorable when sick!!!

Random Pictures

Here are a bunch of random pictures from the last week.
I dropped Brayden off at school last week because I had a meeting and as usual we talked about it a lot trying to avoid a fit! This time it worked but right before he let me leave, he asked me to pick him up, which I did! He then told me "You are going to owe me a red Ironman for this", which we bought after I picked him up! He says funny things every day, I wish I could remember them all to put in here!!

After family pictures he woke up with a low grade fever, gave him a SUPERHERO popsicle and everything was better, well I gave him a little ibuprofen too!!
