Halloween is going to be FUN!!

Last week we went to turn in Brayden's pumpkin and got him dressed up in his BAM BAM outfit and went trick-or-treating in Downtown Sycamore with a friend of ours. Brayden had a blast!! It was kind of chilly, but he was walking all by himself and felt so big that he just kept going, till ofcourse he realized what everyone was giving him was CANDY!! Candy tastes good he learned pretty quick and ended up with us holding him eating for a while. The Pumpkin festival has a whole bunch of activities for kids for almost a week around Halloween, so it fun and close!!

Today we went to the Pumpkin Parade and Brayden took a little while to settle in but did pretty good. A few adults dressed up in costumes came up to him to say hi and shake his hand and he didn't cry, and to be truthful he didn't touch them either, but no tears at least. He enjoyed getting to sit on the curbs and watch loud things go by!! He didn't like that he couldn't run out and be a part of it!! And I guess the parade lasted a little longer than he could tolerate because before it was over he was sleeping on mommy's shoulder!! He also tried his first elephant ear, and he actually liked it!! Mommy and Daddy ate most of it, but he sampled some here and there.

Another day with the ADAMS' Family

Well, everyone has always told me that you never know what you are going to get with a baby/child, and boy is that the truth. Never a dull moment around here, for sure!! I just love how two things are never done the same way, and that at any moment he could choose to do something completely different!!
Last night he woke up for some reason at midnight and was up and down till about 2am when I finally put him back in his bed. He yelled at me for a second, but then fell back asleep for the rest of the night, and is still sleeping at 8:30 this am. I got to enjoy the cuddle time at least!
The weather has changed again to be COLD!! But we did learn that Brayden likes to play in the basement so we plan on bringing all of his outside toys that he loves so much and putting them in the basement where he can play in the big open room. Hopefully it will work for a short time at least. I plan on keeping him busy with new things this winter so that should make it easier I hope. He might even like to play outside in the snow this year, hopefully we don't find out too soon though!!
It is amazing to me how quickly he adjusted to 1 nap per day and how now he can stay up till 9pm even if he woke up from his nap at 1pm. He is for the most part sleeping pretty good at night now too. I just wish when he woke up in the middle of the night he would come and sleep in our bed, but that doesn't happen either. I will keep hoping!!
Here are a few pictures of the last few days:

Pumpkin Take 2....

Brayden does not like to paint with finger paints, but if you give him a paint brush it is a whole different story!! He did a good job painting his pumpkin today, now we are letting it dry and then we will put the Halloween stickers on it!! Here are some pictures of him painting his pumpkin, also check out his new haircut!! Once again he was an angel during it!! Love this little guy!!

While we were downstairs painting, Brayden found a football and remembered Donny and I telling him to say TOUCHDOWN. He must of payed closer attention that we thought!!! I need to keep in mind he remembers everything before it gets me!!

17 Months

Another month has flown by, and I can't believe it!! He is getting so independent and I am not ready to admit it yet really!! He is daring, a climber, quite the talker, and lets us know exactly what he wants!! As the weather gets chillier he is getting pretty good at putting on jackets, anything to get outside a little, so that is working out better than we had thought. He loves to go out of the house, even if it is to the store!!
This weekend we will decorating another pumpkin with finger paints and some Halloween stickers for the pumpkin festival in Sycamore. Then on Wedensday we will drop it off for the contest for other little ones his age!! It will interesting to see how finger paints go, more pictures to come for sure.
This week Brayden is becoming aware of when he poops and doesn't want anyone to watch him so he will go to another room of the house while he does it. He is also now waiting till we take off his diaper and then running away and squatting down to pee if we give him the chance. Maybe potty training won't be as bad as we thought. I was planning on letting daycare take the lead on potty training, but they are not prepared to do any potty training till his next room which isn't for a while. Oh well, maybe we will just play with the idea a little and get him ahead of the game. We will see, he seems kind of little still to me, and I am not ready for him to be too big!!!
I started putting him in 24 month outfits this week and they fit pretty good, a little big, but his 18 month outfits are getting too short in the shirts and pants so we have to do something. He is thinning out in his older age though, but he has a bigger upper body still, he is just going to be a BIG boy I think. Football here we come!!
At 17 months Brayden likes:
To go outside
Bubble Baths and Bubbles
Balls
Pizza and Chicken Nuggets
Cartoons
Stickers
His Blanket
To go up and down the stairs
To Dance
To Read Books
Play with other kids
Give Hugs
To be Independent
To Talk

At 17 months Brayden does not like:
Wearing Clothes
Diaper Changes
New Foods
Being Told "NO"
Bed Time
To be Held all the time or for too long
To give Kisses
To use a Plate for Meal Time

Our Little Chef

Well, it has been a busy week for us. I worked on Sunday this week because I have a meeting on Friday and I couldn't work that day, so Brayden spent the day with daddy (which he hasn't done since May) and had a great day. I don't have any pictures to show, but Donny said he was really good and they played all day.
Saturday we started our Christmas shopping, and that was such a relief for me, and it was so much fun to do. I am hoping that Brayden enjoys opening his presents this year because I am having so much buying them!!
Brayden is now tall enough to get into the drawers in the kitchen. He found the kitchen utensil drawer and really likes the whisk and big spatulas. He gets his bowls out and uses the utensils to mix things. I am guessing that grandma taught him how to cook.
Brayden is doing very well in the car finally, and we are planning on going to Minnesota to see Aunt Sheila and the family so it should go smooth....Hopefully!! I miss the Mall Of America, and getting to watch the kids open their Christmas presents so we need to make it there!!
The weather is getting colder now, and Brayden is not sure what to think about all that. When you tell Brayden it is cold outside and BURRRRRRRR. He says BURRRRRRRR right back. It is soo cute!! I just love how he picks up everything so quick.
