First Sick MD Visit

Croup!!! I never knew what croup really was much more than knowing that I was put in the hospital as a child at least. Brayden woke up at 2am Monday morning with a cough that lasted only about 10 seconds then he went back to bed. I got up and went to work as usual. Well, that lasted through the meeting that I really needed to be at and then I went to pick him up from daycare and took him to the doctors office. The doctor said he had croup and that he needed Albuterol and cough medicine with codeine. We picked them and got them started so we did not allow the croup to pass to his lungs. Monday night was rough he was shaking like a leaf from the Albuterol, a known side effect, but it was not allowing him to sleep more than 1 hour at a time which meant mommy got hardly no sleep at all. I was so worried about him. We went back to the doctor on Tuesday and started Xopenex nebs and we have been on an uphill climb ever since. He is feeling so much better. He learned to say Quack from him duck mask on the nebulizer even.
This week he learned how to open cabinets and drawers. So leave it to mommy when cleaning out the drawers of stuff he shouldn't have she placed fun things like ribbon on a roll for him to find. It kept him quiet for at least 5 minutes. It was all over but fun for him. I took some pictures with the progression once he figured out what it could do.
He is also dancing now. It is adorable. He puts his arms up in the air and bounces his upper body!! I can't get enough of it.

Playing Hide and Seek

This week Brayden has decided that he doesn't want to be held when he is falling asleep, he wants Donny or I to place him in his bed and he talks to himself for a few minutes and then finally after about 10 minutes or so puts himself to sleep!!! I love it and hate it at the same time!!! Brayden found Grandma Pam's walker this week since she just had knee replacement done last week and decided that it was fun. He walked all over her living room with it. I didn't have the camera so I took a quick shot with my phone, and it only turned out ok. It was adorable though.
Bryaden is giving 5 now, when you ask "How big is Brayden?" He puts him arms up in the air.  He learned to go up the stairs at Aunt Karshawn's house, but still doesn't try them here. He pushed anything he can walking behind it. He doesn't need much assistance to stay up anymore.
He couldn't wait to show his dad that he could walk now. "I'm a big Kid now!!!"

Brayden thinks that his cars crawl just like him. He makes them go everywhere he goes, then can't figure out why sometimes they go by themselves. It makes me realize how big he is really getting because he knows they have wheels for a reason.

Brayden has decided that it is fun to play Hide-n-Seek now, where of course he does the hiding. I will post some pictures of him hiding under the chair and trying to grab my attention so I could find him.

UP, UP and AWAY!!!!!

Another busy week for all of us. Brayden is continuing to do more things by the minute. Over the last week he has started standing up by himself for at least 10 seconds, or until he realizes what is going on and falls down. He is crawling on his feet and hands instead of knees, I guess it doesn't hurt so much. He is walking behind his push toys all over the living room and yelling at mom to move the furniture so he can get where he needs to go. We are sure that one random day he is going to show us how he can walk. Oh my goodness, to be able to just hold and cuddle with him all of the time like when he was born? This is why people have more than one baby I guess!!
We started giving him milk products this week, which is a big change since at 4 days old he was diagnosed with a lactose allergy and hasn't really had milk since. The only change that I have noticed is that he is not pooping much again so I am not sure that he is handling it too well, but am not sure if it is related yet or not.
We went to a friends house on Saturday night and Brayden got to play with another little baby and they had so much fun. He was bigger than her by a long shot so he won most of the battles over toys. He really enjoys being around other kids.
Brayden is still enjoying spending time with Donny and I and doesn't easily go to see anyone else right now. He wants to make sure that we don't leave him I guess.
Brayden has also enjoyed spending time outside over the last week. We have went for a walk, crawled around on the ground and played in the grass. He loves the fresh air and can't get enough of it. Soon we will be playing outside every chance we get.

Our Little Basketball Player

Donny and I have thought since he was born, with his size and all, that we would have a Football Player. I think we were wrong. He can not get enough basketball. This little basketball hoop will get him out a bad mood everytime he hears it clap for him. (That might be part of it, he loves to be clapped for!!!)
Here are a few pictures of his slam dunks!!!!!!!!!!!

10 Months Old

WOW another month has passed. It is time for to start planning his birthday party I guess. He sure has developed quite a personality these days. He knows what he wants and wants it right now. He has not been eating real well, real food anyway. Still drinking bottles good ofcourse. He is starting to try and say any word that you say to him and ofcourse we clap everytime even if it sounds like something he already says.
He loves:
Bottles
His Blanket
Wii with Daddy
Crawling around the House
Cookies
The Dog
To Talk
To watch people at stores

He Dislikes:
Diaper and clothes changes
Not being able to get where he wants to go
Not being held when he wants to be
Real food in a Highschair
Being in the house all the time

First Sick Day

Well, this past weekend was rough on me, but ofcourse Brayden seemed to do ok. There are a few things he likes mommy to do but we learned there are replacements for most!! He was really good for my parents and they had as much fun as he did, and he was an angel for them if you ask them. That is yet to be determined.

This week Brayden has started standing by himself pretty often, but as soon as he realizes what is going on he gets so excited that he falls down. He is also starting to figure things out, he can play basketball on one of his toys and he is understanding that if he does this, this will happen. Again, I am impressed at how fast they catch on to things.

Yesterday Donny had to go and pick Brayden up at daycare with a temp of 101.6. When he got there his teachers told Donny that he was really sad and sleeping alot and not eating!! Donny was determined to fix that and stopped at McDonalds and as you can see from the last picture he felt better in no time and ate like his usual self. He is definately our kid!!! Donny did a great job with Brayden and giving his ibuprofen and tylenol and an even better job of taking FREQUENT phone calls from me. The good news is he hasn't had another fever yet!! The bad news no new teeth like last time he had a fever and he is definately still grouchy and must not feel great plus his nose is running constantly so every time we wipe it, the fight starts!!
Come get me if you want me to wear clothes!!
I love Wii too!!
I found this toy and forgot how much fun it is!!

Daddy gave me McDonalds and now I am all better!!

Getting Ready for the Big Weekend

I would of never believed that kids changed as fast as they did before we had Brayden. It is so amazing to me that in 5 minutes he can learn something new and that he doesn't forget it 5 minutes later. Yesterday he said UT-OH for the first time and also started walking behind one of his push toys. I went to get the video camera so daddy could watch it and it was dead!!! Daddy saw it, it just wasn't the first time he did it.
Brayden decided last weekend that he was too big to eat baby cereal, which he was eating twice a day, and baby food. So yesterday I went grocery shopping for a bunch of new things for him to try. So far he will eat anything we give him, with his favorites being pizza, french toast sticks, and chicken nuggets!!
Donny and I are going to Chicago this weekend for a night away. It should be interesting!! We will soon see.
